Legal Affairs Section
The Legal Services Department is the legal arm of the council. Comprising of the Legal Affairs and the Bye-law Enforcement divisions, the department is charged with ensuring that this council’s operations, both internal and external, are executed within the framework of the Constitution, its parent Act-the Local Government (District Councils) Act, Cap 40:01 and other applicable statues and that the business world and community at large adhere to the council’s bye-laws that we are required to enforce.
Bye Law Enforcement Section
This Division is by far the most critical Division in all councils because it is the life line of the council in terms of generation of revenue for the council other than government grants. The Division is the debt collection of the council and it ensures that residents comply with all council regulations and bye-laws. It ensures order and tranquillity within the jurisdictional area of the council concerned. It ensures that council policies are implemented and complied with by all.
